Versiliana Park

Versiliana Park is a wonderful natural oasis that stretches between Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi. The park, the authentic green lung of the coast, has an area of about 800,000 square meters, and its origins date back to the period of formation of the Versilia. This wonderful area, still inviolated after so many years, is a huge forests that offers an extraordinary richness in natural and environmental terms. The Versiliana is home to natural areas and different types of trees, mostly oaks and pines, and bush.

Within the park lies the Villa La Versiliana, a historic building built in 1886 that housed the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio in the early years of the twentieth century. In this house the great poet wrote his most famous poem "The rain in the pine forest”. Every summer in the big pinewood surrounding the famous villa, a intensive and qualified cultural festival takes place. This “Versiliana Festival" is a very interesting event with over twenty years of great success, and now consolidated at national level. In addition, it is worth mentioning the artistic and cultural meetings at the "Caffé della Versiliana"; and “Versiliana for kids", a small theatre dedicated to the enjoyment of children.
